Russo Japanese War Artillery Tokkuri Sake Bottle

A genuine Tokkuri Sake bottle from the Russo Japanese War (1904-1905).

Presented as an End of Duty commemoration for service completed in the 5th Field Artillary of the Imperial Japanese Army.   In the Russo Japanese War under the command of General Nozu Michitsura, the 5th Division Artillery Core saw combat in the battles of Shaho, Sandepu and Mukden.

The officers name of Hiata is also set in gold leaf along with the “End Of Duty” commemoration.  It is also flanked by a cherry blossom sprig.  The rear of the sake bottle also has a Type 38 75 mm field gun which is set in gold leaf.

Beautifully embossed in a basket weave pattern and in very good condition with no cracks of chips.
