Handpainted Silk Scroll by Artist Shuho
Japanese Hand painted Silk Scroll c1900 to 1940 White Roses under Pine Tree. Sign and Seal of Artist Shuho.
The upper crosspiece (hyoumoku) and lower crosspiece (jiku) are karaki wood. The mounting (heri) is silk. The artwork (honshi) is also in good condition with some lifting at the edges.
The order (ichimoji) which are the strips running across the top and bottom of the centrepiece artwork is made of silk brocade. The backing on the scroll is washi which is traditionally used in all scrolls.
Excellent condition for age with pigment and beautiful detail in hand painting.
