Vintage Japanese Temple Bell And Striker

A traditional and authentic hand carved Vintage Japanese Temple Bell also known as “Mokugyo” and striker from the 1920s.

Featuring an Urushi Lacquered wooden Bell and the features of a Dragon hand carved from solid Cypress or Rosewood. Estimated age 1900s – 1930’s – Meiji to early Showa Era.

The bell also ships with original leather covered wooden striker. There is some chipping to the lacquer work and some wear and tear showing in places given the age and considering the enthusiastic usage this genuine bell has received many times each day during its long life. A wonderful representation of authentic Japanese culture full of life.

The approximate dimensions are 20cm height and 18.5cm wide and 15cm depth
