Large Japanese Female Hina Doll
A charming Large Japanese Female Hina Doll estimated circa 1960s. Beautifully dressed in traditional Japanese costume made from kimono silks. Her head and hands are made from porcelain bisque and her hair is also made from silk thread.
Hina Matsuri also called Dolls Day and Girls Day is celebrated on 3 March each year. Platforms covered with a red material and display a set of ornamental dolls in traditional court dress of the Heian period. The dolls represent the Emperor and Empress surrounded by attendants and musicians.
