A set of three beautifully detailed Kugikakushi snake decorative nail covers. Made during the Meiji era from bronze and mixed metals and in very good original condition.
Kugikakushi are decorative ornaments and are created to conceal nails on doors of castles and temples as well as the homes of aristocratic families. The use of decorative nail covers originated during the 16th and 17th centuries.
