Product Description
Ando Studio Cloisonne Vase
Antique Meiji Era (1868-1912) Ando Studio Japanese Cloissone Vase. Using gold and shakudo wires and featuring four panels decorated with phoenix and dragon motifs.
The large size and Goldstone panels also attest to the quality of the vase. Gold “tea dust” pioneered by Honda Yosabura and later used by the great Namikawa Yasuyuki is also sprinkled on the four panels.
Butterflies and lotus flowers decorate the top of the vase. The use of silver and gold as well as white metal fittings indicate a vase that was made without compromise. The vase is also in exceptional condition apart from one miniscule kiln bubble.
Wooden stand shown is not included in the price of this listing.
