March – The Dance of Harmony

A Rare Original Hideyo Matsuno Woodblock Print in Oban size.  Titled Hagoromo – Juni-ka-getsu Noh ga Suri    (Twelve Months of Noh Pictures). 

Hideyo Matsuno fl. C1970.

This print is titled March which symbolises the Dance of Harmony from “Hagoromo”.  Hideyo Matsuno son of renowned painter Sofu Matsuno (1899-1963) created 6 of the designs.  The other 6 designs are by his father Sofu Matsuno.

Carver Nagashima, printer Shinmi.  Published by Unsodo 1970  Oban tate-e Characters inscribed in the seal means  “The Sleeve of White Cloud”.

Framed and Mounted to Museum Conservation Standard: Print tipped to acid free foam core backing and mat by rice paper hinges upper corners and wheatflour starch adhesive.  True Vue 99% Anti UV Glass.
