A wonderful way to try Shoyeido’s Horin Series of Incense. 20 sticks of 7cm long consisting of 4 sticks of each of Shoyeido’s Horin range.
Shirakawa Named after Japan’s snowy White River Valley. Shirakawa brings a feeling of warmth and comfort. It has a big amber based scent, along with the addition of vanilla and subtle coconut notes across the top. There is a sweetness to the overall profile.
Muromachi or City of Culture Incense has a sweet spiced scent, with a blend of agar and dry sandalwood notes at the base.
Nijo has a perfumed sandalwood fragrance and has initial notes of jasmine and wisteria. There is also a mid note of fruit similar to apricot or green grapes and a slight hint of vanilla amber and talcum.
Tenpyo or Peaceful Sky is a beautiful and Noble Japanese incense. It is also one of Shoyeido’s finest. It has the rich resiny aroma of rare Vietnamese Agar-wood refined as well as compelling as only Shoyeido know how to create.
Genroku has a different style to the others. It has no overt perfumes or oils that stand out but instead delivers a top note of cambodian or vietnamese aloeswood and a base note of sweet agarwood.
The package is also beautifully presented. There are 20 sticks each 2.75 inches long as well as a biodegradable holder. The burning time for each stick is approximately 20 minutes.
Shoyeido Incense is hand made in Japan by master blenders and uses authentic pure and natural high quality plant ingredients. They are also the oldest traditional Japanese incense company originating in the early 1700′s.
The Incense is made using the same care, skills and techniques used for over 400 years and more than twelve generations in supplying the Imperial Court in Kyoto.
