Vintage Large Arita Porcelain Incense Burner
Still in its original natural Paulonia Tomobako (wood box) and signed by the artist Kasen-gama.

Stunning mid 20th Century Large Japanese Arita Blue and White Porcelain Koro or Incense Burner by an artist at the Kasen-gama. It is hand drawn and hand painted with beautiful royal blue peonies and leaves on a vine over pristine white porcelain. The finial is also shaped as a flower. The legs are tripod and the handles which are also painted have an elegant flair. It is a high quality piece of Arita porcelain and very well made. The bottom is signed 花舟, Kasen which reads Kasen-gama or kiln.
Still in its original natural Paulonia Tomobako (wood box) which is also marked with this name on the bottom left. 花舟作, Kasen-saku, saku means work of art or production of. In the middle it says 香炉, for koro or incense burner. The red seal on the top right of the box is the Arita mark, 有田焼.
