Mid 20th C Hiroshige II Mounted Fan Print. A rare and beautiful early to mid 20th Century kacho-e Woodblock Fan Print by Hiroshige II. Already mounted to Museum Conservation Standard and ready for framing. The Artisan Seal as well as the Signature are present on the print and margins. This is a re-carved edition of a charming uchiwa-e print by Utagawa Hiroshige II. It shows, in very unique composition and colors, a small bird among roses on a bold raspberry red ground. The tender colours of the bird and the blossoms – rose, pale yellow and green, contrast with the bright and main color of the fan. The print’s background is in silver mica.
Artist: Hiroshige II (1829-1869), who was called Shigenobu in his early days, was a disciple and also the adopted son of the great ukiyo-e master Hiroshige I.
