A finely detailed Toyokuni Kunisada Woodblock print of a Geisha. An exquisitely hand produced genuine woodblock print by Utagawa Toyokuni 1769 – 1825 It is a wonderful depiction of a young Geisha with very finely rendered detail and colour of her Kimono. An inspiring and beautiful print to look at. In excellent condition.
Originally published mid Edo era 1700’s. This version published early to mid 20th Century c. 1950s – 70s.

Utagawa Kunisada also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III. (1786 – 12 January 1865). Toyokuni III was the most popular and successful designer of Ukiyo-e woodblock prints in 19th-century Japan. His reputation far exceeded that of his contemporaries, Hokusai, Hiroshige and Kuniyoshi.
