1930s Hiroshige Chuban Woodblock Print Station 27 Kakegawa

Chuban sized 1930s woodblock print from Hiroshige’s series “53 Stations Of Tokaido.” 

The print is in very good condition with vibrant colours and sharp edges.  There is one smudge to the top left of the print.

Dimensions Approximately 27 cm wide x  20 cm high

Utagawa Hiroshige also Andō Hiroshige 1797 to 1858.

Hiroshige is famous for his landscapes as well as his depictions of birds and flowers.   He created many woodblock print series such as the Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido and the Sixty-nine Stations of the Kiso Kaido.  Hiroshige was also considered the last great master of the woodblock print tradition.
