A Nature series print from the great Hiroshige woodblock print series.  The series consists of 25 Woodblock  Nature Prints and this is Print 17 titled Golden Pheasant in Bracken.

Also depicted on the top left of the print is a poem.

Artist Seal and Signature on the Print.  Publisher Takami Sawaki Bansha Takamizawa.  The original print resides in the Honolulu Museum of Art gifted by James Mitchener.  There is also an original at The Harvard Art Museum.

Utagawa Hiroshige also known as Andō Hiroshige  1797 to 1858.  Hiroshige was also the last great master of the ukiyo-e tradition.

Hiroshige is best known for his landscapes as well as his depictions of birds and flowers.  Some of his works are the Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido and the Sixty-nine Stations of the Kiso Kaido.
